Most of us like dogs. Few of us like incessant barking. None of us likes poop. 'Nuff said.

Well, one would think 'nuff said but unfortunately, it is not the case. Barking is in a dog's DNA and some level of barking is expected, but we need to be reasonable. Many in the community have small children that go to bed early and nap during the day. Everyone deserves a peaceful, quiet place to live.

A Couple of Guidelines

  • If your dog barks continuously for more than 10 minutes, please bring them indoors. It is the courteous and proper thing to do.
  • Clean up the little prizes your dog leaves when you take them for a walk or when they are frolicking in your yard.
  • Don't let your dog water anyone else's grass if you can help it. Don't yank their leash if they have already started though.
  • Don't assume everyone loves your dog the way you do.
  • Don't let them wander on other people's lawns.
  • Don't allow them to greet people the way they greet other dogs.

Dogs can be a wonderful part of a community but like anything else, if not managed, can be a source of discord amongst neighbors. Let's keep Riverland Park a place everyone — and every dog — can enjoy.
